Glass Hearts: Wisp

  • A choice of Colours
  • Handmade in Devon
  • Wonderfully Tactile
  • Fits neatly into the palm your hand

A small amount of your loved one's ashes can be immortalised forever into a comforting glass heart. The ashes within glass hearts are completely discreet but you can have them engraved completely.

The Handheld Wisp Heart comes in a range of colours: Black, Blue Cobalt, Amber, Cranberry, Aqua, Amethyst, Purple and Green.

The Handheld Memorial Heart is approx 5cm long though each one is individually hand-made so size may vary slightly. They can be held in the palm or even slipped into a pocket or a handbag. The heart is designed so that you can see the ashes, the lighter colours expose them more than the darker ones. If you would prefer not to see the ashes the Stardust range of hearts have a golden layer which sparkles and conceals the ashes.

All the ashes within glass pieces are handmade here in Dartmoor, Devon by experienced and skilled glassmakers. The procedure is extremely rigorous and each item comes with a certificate of authenticity so that you know that only the ashes you have provided are in your memorial glass.

Keeping the ashes

Many people keep their loved one's ashes at home, some because they are not sure what to do with them, some because they are not yet ready to do something with them and some simply want to keep them close by, in the house. Sometimes, very well meaning, friends will give advice such as 'it's time to move on' or 'you'll feel better if you scatter/bury them'. But only you will know how you feel about the loss of your loved one and only you will know when and if the time is right to do something else with the ashes.

Splitting the ashes

As long as there are no religious reasons it is worthwhile thinking about keeping some of your loved one's ashes, you can scatter or bury most of the ashes on a favourite walk perhaps, or in the garden but keep a small amount back to memorialise when you are ready. This will give you more time to decide what you want to do as your feelings may change over time.

The Process

When you purchase an ashes within glass ornament we will send you a pack with everything you need to send a small amount - a teaspoon of ashes per item - securely to us.

We will let you know that the ashes have arrived safely and then will hand deliver them to our local glassmakers. The ashes ashes are keep securely in a safe until they are handmade by an experience glassmaker into your glass memorial. Once cooled the item can be engraved and then sent securely to you with the certificate of authenticity.

The process takes between 6-8 weeks from receipt of ashes.
